2009 SMA Calendar - Raising Funds for Spinal Muscular Atrophy

We’re here again! It’s time for the 3rd edition of the SMA Calendar. This calendar features children, adults, and families living with or remembering people with Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA). I know that there are MANY new families who do not know anything about the calendar, so a brief overview. I did the 1st SMA Calendar in 2007 and raised funds for SMA Support. I also did one this year, dividing the funds between SMA Support (www.smasupport.com) and Marshall’s Miles (www.marshallsmiles.com). The 2009 calendar will benefit the same 2 organizations. I hope to have increased enthusiasm this year! This may be my last year doing the calendar, due to lack of purchasing of the 2008 calendar. I put a great deal of effort into the calendar so I would like to raise more money for both organizations. Anyway, on to the particulars and interesting stuff…
1) Each month will feature 7+ families. Check out http://www.cafepress.com/b4sma/1826918 for the 2008 SMA Calendar. Layout can always be changed. This depends on how many people sign up.
2) Pictures can be emailed at anytime and can be of yourself, your kid, your kid and family, kid and siblings, etc. Angels and adults are always welcome too! It is up to you to decide. The 2008 Calendar features a little bit of everything. Please know that everyone’s pictures will be relatively the same size no matter how many people are in the photo.
3) The deadline for sending pictures will be September 6th, 2008 so I have plenty of time to get it set up before Christmas. If you sign up and decide to send pictures at a later date, you will receive only 2 e-mail reminders (due to my vacation schedule). You probably will not be able to purchase until late October, but I will keep everyone updated.
4) Now the cost issue! I am going to do them through my cafepress store again as it does NOT require an upfront cost. Each person can go into the cafepress shop and order how many they want and profits will go to Laura Stants and Laurie Potter. I will, once again, charge $20.00 per calendar, $2.50 of each calendar will go to SMA Support and $2.50 will go to Marshall’s Miles. I am going to split the money raised in order to support another organization and reach additional families.
